Fighting viruses on your computer is not a destination it's a journey.  With all avenues available to the ones creating these viruses sooner or later your computer will become infected.  The only thing that can be done is to try to keep your operating system updated with the latest patches and fixes and install a comprehensive Anti-Virus and Anti Spyware program.  

When your computer does become infected it is nearly impossible to totally remove today's viruses on your own.  When you attempt to do this with some of the applications available to you there are always bits and pieces of the virus left behind.  These are hidden somewhere on your computer and are still a viable threat.  These bits and pieces usually have code written with-in them that will download the rest of the virus the next time you connect to the internet or a preset date and time in the future.

GETATECH technicians can usually perform computer troubleshooting and diagnostics remotely to save your hard earned money. Unfortunately, our remote solution cannot be used during this process because your computer will still be connected to the internet and total cleanup will not be possible. Therefore this needs to be done by one of our technicians while onsite.
